UNDERSTANDING SHRI SHRI RAMAKRISHNA THAKUR

Image
The great soul who loved humans irrespective of caste, language and religious bar. The soul who was a great friend of any human being from any works of life, sect, creed or colour. The soul who was the epitome of devotion and knowledge. The soul who was like an ocean for any rivers flowing into. This soul is none other than Shri Shri Ramakrishna Thakur. Ramakrishna Thakur   used to tell, ” Ma   amake manush koro, Ma amake shakti dao” - Means o mother make me a human, my mother give me strength. All of us are made up of 206 bones, muscles, nerve , blood ,cells etc. then why Thakur told   to make human, as all of us   took birth as human. Reason is that our mind need to be stream lined in the right track and that can only happen through spirituality and devotion towards god. These ingredients can help us to make Man in true sense . Sri Sri Ramakrishna was born to Khudiram Chatterjee and Chandra devi   on 17 feb 1836. His father was the inh...

BEST versus POPULAR

Image
Sometimes we are hooked up with illusion and pleasant things around us and accordingly we set that in mind to be the best. Again and again when the same things are spoken then our brain tends to believe that the spoken things are correct . Eyes forms the gateway in perceiving the knowledge which passes the information to the brain and the brain analyses and when repeated campaigning regarding a worst material done, to be good then the person believes and certifies others also regarding it to be the best. Good is one thing and pleasant is other. Pleasant is tonic for the eyes, which are transient and may or may not have any beneficial effect on the person and the society as a whole. But Good always stands firm in its objective till the end. So these two words – one pleasant and other good, let’s put these words to understand the commodities, materials to be - Popular Or Best .        The Healthy food As the eyes forms the gateway in collecting information a...

Education and Marketization

Image
Post 1991, there was rapid marketisation of education under the pretext of privatisation. The marketing section of education has a great banner, advertisement to attract people to admit there wards. New courses like Horse riding, Swimming, foreign tour, teaching of language subjects like German, French, Spanish came into force in our institutions with less importance given to vernacular languages. Learning of any language may be national or foreign is a welcome approach but it should not be at the cost of vernacular language. During 90s number of business giant started trying their luck in the field of education. Their advertising agency then started advertisements for educational institution. Gradually the process took different turn, parents and guardians began to be looked upon as customers and to attract them for admitting their wards number of lucrative schemes were chalked out. Concept like turnover, target which are prevalent in MNC after that started its venture in t...

Infusing Patriotism in Curriculum

Image
Every state has heroes whose work motivates us in contributing our best for the society and the Nation as a whole. Let me cite an example of patriotism that one finds in   the state of   Maharashtra regarding Shivaji Maharaj. Nationalistic approach in Maharashtra is much higher in many cases, but how that happened? It is due to the fact that a patriotic factor called shivaji worked there. Shivaji has entered everyone’s brain and it has been able to influence people from different works of life. Process of knowing Shivaji starts from KG level classes, where only the picture of Shivaji is given and below that his name is written, then in the next class students come to know about his birth date and year. Students after that come to know about his parents and childhood. Gradually one after another class, students come to kn...

STORY TELLING

Image
Story telling is the best way to infuse good morale and rational thinking among the kids. Grandmother's story which used to find a wonderful place in our life, now is gradually going out of our life. Even the inspirational stories from comics like Amar Chitra Khata have been replaced by cartoons. Our kids remained glued to the  Television to see those cartoons which have the messages and culture of other countries and in reality they find themselves in different world. Stories of our Heroes in different spheres, who helped a lot in shaping this nation need to be studied, may be in the form of story books, comics, cartoons but the best always remained among non formal education is the grandmother storytelling, which can also be practised by other members of the family. Emotional development forms one of the important tools in grooming our children. Stories forms gateway in opening our senses and restoring our own values and help the children to develop concern for others. ...

India As I dream Of

Image
“Let India arise….Let her arise from the peasants’ cottage, grasping the plough ; out of the hut of fisherman, the cobbler and the sweeper. Let her spring from the grosser’s  shop, from beside the oven of fitter seller. Let her emanate from the factory, from marts, from the markets. Let her emerge from grooves and forest, from hills and mountains”. Development of any nation or regions depends upon the upliftment of masses mainly the poor, downtrodden labourers etc. Nation’s development cannot be determined with the development of counted few. If the light of development is received by the remotest areas and they are successful successful in contributing their share in India’s share in India’s growth then definitely we can say we are marching towards development. Dream India comes from the people, resource and implementation of different strategies for the development. When we speak about Dream India then scientific exploration of natural resources also forms an importa...

POLITICS : A CAREER AND GOAL

Image
Another election had been scheduled, organised and results are declared. The associated campaigning by various parties made us aware of many issues that had gathered dust over the years and also re-iterated the burning issues while hiding some skeletons inside the party’s / candidate’s   cupboard. However the one character that remains unchanged over the years is the protagonist in this entire exercise- the common masses. Yes, even after being aware of the lacunae prevailing in our electoral process, we Indians prefer the cosiness of our drawing room to only criticize the political parties, the candidates/politicians, and the entire system of which we are also a part, choosing to turn a blind eye to the role (rather not played) by us to change our government for the better. As a citizen of the largest and oldest democratic nations in the world, we are discharging the duties and responsibilities expected of us in the present to carry forward our healthy legacy in the future?. ...
