India As I dream Of

Image
“Let India arise….Let her arise from the peasants’ cottage, grasping the plough ; out of the hut of fisherman, the cobbler and the sweeper. Let her spring from the grosser’s  shop, from beside the oven of fitter seller. Let her emanate from the factory, from marts, from the markets. Let her emerge from grooves and forest, from hills and mountains”. Development of any nation or regions depends upon the upliftment of masses mainly the poor, downtrodden labourers etc. Nation’s development cannot be determined with the development of counted few. If the light of development is received by the remotest areas and they are successful successful in contributing their share in India’s share in India’s growth then definitely we can say we are marching towards development. Dream India comes from the people, resource and implementation of different strategies for the development. When we speak about Dream India then scientific exploration of natural resources also forms an importa...

POLITICS : A CAREER AND GOAL

Image
Another election had been scheduled, organised and results are declared. The associated campaigning by various parties made us aware of many issues that had gathered dust over the years and also re-iterated the burning issues while hiding some skeletons inside the party’s / candidate’s   cupboard. However the one character that remains unchanged over the years is the protagonist in this entire exercise- the common masses. Yes, even after being aware of the lacunae prevailing in our electoral process, we Indians prefer the cosiness of our drawing room to only criticize the political parties, the candidates/politicians, and the entire system of which we are also a part, choosing to turn a blind eye to the role (rather not played) by us to change our government for the better. As a citizen of the largest and oldest democratic nations in the world, we are discharging the duties and responsibilities expected of us in the present to carry forward our healthy legacy in the future?. ...

EDUCATION AND RIGHT TO EDUCATION

Image
Right to education   is one of the major issues that has been taken up by the govt.   in the recent years. "The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act' or ' Right to Education Act   also known as RTE', stress the importance of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 in India under Article 21A of the   Indian Constitution.   India became one of 135 countries to make   education a fundamental right   of every child when the act came into force on 1 April 2010. The title of the RTE Act incorporates the words ‘free and compulsory’. ‘Free education’ means that no child, other than a child who has been admitted by his or her parents to a school which is not supported by the appropriate Government, shall be liable to pay any kind of fee or charges or expenses which may prevent him or her from pursuing and completing elementary education". But this right to education needs to have more specification & categori...

WATER FALLS :UMRANGSO

Image
Umrangso is blessed by two magnificent waterfalls, one at Panimur and another at 29 km, Miyungna Daogan . Panimur Water fall: Panimur is around 30 km distance away from the Umrangso main centre. Here in , the Kopili river turns into a robust water fall, flowing over the rocks as the water column carves out its way and finally surrenders to the pull of gravity and flows down like a frothy white curtain of water. The enchanting surroundings with lush greenery enhance the beauty of the cascading white water. Dimasa people  consider the place as a holy pilgrimage. During the Magh Purnima native people take a holly bath at the falls. For many, Panimur water fall is the Niagra Falls of Assam.                                                                                      ...

TOURISM DESTINATION: UMRANGSO

Image
TOURISM DESTINATION: UMRANGSO Dima hasao is one of the vibrant districts of Assam ,Known for its  splendour  natural  resources, scenic beauty, flora and fauna, hospitality of the people, ethnic dresses , food and costumes etc., and yet it is very less explored and very less known by the people outside the autonomous district . We generally speak about Assam , that the rest of India knows only the negative part where as the positivity is not lime lighted or remain hidden from media personnel and same is reflected when Dima Hasao is analysed in Assam’s context.                                                Panimur waterfalls Even though the light of development may not touch     the remotest corner of DimaHasao and electricity may be the limiting factor to keep pace with other part of the state, but what this autonomous council posses...
