  Right to education   is one of the major issues that has been taken up by the govt.   in the recent years. "The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act' or ' Right to Education Act   also known as RTE', stress the importance of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 in India under Article 21A of the   Indian Constitution.   India became one of 135 countries to make   education a fundamental right   of every child when the act came into force on 1 April 2010. The title of the RTE Act incorporates the words ‘free and compulsory’. ‘Free education’ means that no child, other than a child who has been admitted by his or her parents to a school which is not supported by the appropriate Government, shall be liable to pay any kind of fee or charges or expenses which may prevent him or her from pursuing and completing elementary education". The Amur falcon is a fascinating migratory raptor.  Every year, the small, resilient birds make the daring voyage from their breeding ground south eastern Siberia and northern China and cross the Arabian sea, during migration and reach India in large flocks. Video by – Santanu Nandi Purkayastha Falcon is the largest travelling migratory birds in the world.  These migratory birds travel from Siberia,China and  halt at Umrangso,( Dt- Dima Hasao, Assam) during their annual journey to South Africa.  Amur falcon are pigeon sized migratory birds origination in Siberia where they breed in summer. As the onset of winter , they fly to India- mainly to North Eastern India and specifically to Umrangso of Assam where they stay for about two months before leaving for South Africa. In South Africa they remain for about four months.   As earlier, due to  lack of awareness these migratory birds were killed for sport, fun and meat.  But gradually ...

Umrangso is blessed by two magnificent waterfalls, one at Panimur and another at 29 km, Miyungna Daogan . Panimur Water fall: Panimur is around 30 km distance away from the Umrangso main centre. Here in , the Kopili river turns into a robust water fall, flowing over the rocks as the water column carves out its way and finally surrenders to the pull of gravity and flows down like a frothy white curtain of water.The enchanting surroundings with lush greenery enhance the beauty of the cascading white water. Dimasa people  consider the place as a holy pilgrimage. During the Magh Purnima native people take a holly bath at the falls.
